Introduction / History
The Mana of India are also called Mane. The word Mana means honor. They speak Marathi and live in Maharashtra. The Mana are not vegetarians but do not eat beef. Wheat and rice are eaten by them as cereals.

The Mana have several clans and marrying among the different clans is not allowed. Marriage is by discussion or by service. A dowry is favored. They bury or cremate the dead.

The Mana are landowners who work mainly in agriculture. Hinduism is their religion. They are serpent worshippers too. Records of their clan genealogy are kept. They believe in education and modern medicines.
