Afghan, Tajik of Iran

Introduction / History
Afghanistan and Iran have had relations with each other for a long time. Many Afghans came to Iran after the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in the late 1970's and others came because of other later wars in their country. Most of them are refugees and can only stay in Iran for a limited time.

Many Afghans are now copying Iran and using birth control, something they were against previously. The Afghans are now having to accept education for women which is something they have been opposed to also.

It is hard for Afghans to become Iranian citizens including for the children of mixed Afghan and Iranian marriages. The Afghans in Iran tend to have low paid work.

Iranians are Shia Muslims while Afghans are mostly Sunni Muslims but some of them are Shia Muslims. The Afghans in Iran speak Persian and Afghan languages also.

Prayer Points
* Pray the that the difficulties that Afghans are having will cause them to look to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that God will give the Afghans dreams and visions leading them to salvation.
* Pray that as the Afghans read the Koran about Jesus they will want to read the Bible and then give their lives to Jesus Christ.
