Bisati of India

Introduction / History
The Bisati are Muslims who live in the north of India. Bisati is supposed to have come from the word Bisat which is to do with goods for sale. They make a living through trading.

The Bisati live in Lucknow and other cities of Uttar Pradesh. In Uttar Pradesh they are Sunni Muslims who speak Urdu and Hindi.

The Bisati of Bihar have several clans and marry among them. They are endogamous (meaning they prefer to marry within thie group) and marry their cousins. They sell general goods such as hosiery and local toys. Some are self-employed and many are farmers. They speak Bhojpuri and Urdu. Some are in charge of industries such as weaving.

The Bisati are also living in Rajasthan with many in the Sikar district and other districts of that state.

Prayer Points
* Pray that when the Bisati read the Koran that they will be attracted to Jesus Christ, begin reading the Bible and will give their lives to Him.
* Pray that God will give them dreams and visions leading them to Jesus Christ.
