Chasadhobi of India

Introduction / History
The Chasa Dhoba of India live in the state of West Bengal. The word Chas means agriculture. Chasa Dhoba means owner of cultivated fields. They speak, read and write in Bengali. They are not vegetarians but do not eat beef or pork. Rice is eaten by them as a cereal.

Widowers can marry again but not widows. They have birth and marriage rituals and the dead are cremated.

The Chas Dhoba work in agriculture and many of them do other work such as having their own businesses. They do not go in for higher education or family planning but do use modern medicines.

Prayer Points
* Pray that Indian Christians will lead the Chasa Dhoba to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that gospel materials and the internet will lead them to salvation.
