Deshwali (Hindu traditions) of India

Introduction / History
The Deshwali of India live in Rajasthan. Desh means country and wali means lord. They speak Mawari and read and write in Devanagari. Islam is their religion. They are not vegetarians and eat wheat as a cereal.

The Deshwali are monogamous and cousin marriages take place too. Marriage is by discussion. Divorce and marrying again are allowed. They have birth rituals and the dead are buried.

Most of them own land. Cultivation is their main work. They have a community council to look after them. They use modern ways of agriculture.

Prayer Points
* Pray that as the Deshwali read the Koran they will be attracted to Jesus, read the Bible and give their lives to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that the Deshwali council leaders will give their lives to Jesus Christ and lead others to Him.
* Pray that God will give them dreams and visions leading them to salvation.
