Kutana of India

Introduction / History
The Kuta live in Uttar Pradesh. They speak Awadhi and read and write in Devanagari. They are not vegetarians and eat wheat and rice.

On the death of the father, sons inherit the property with the oldest son becoming in charge of the home. There are birth and marriage rituals. Divorce and marrying again are allowed. The dead are cremated.

The Kuta are landless. They work in transport, business, selling and laboring. Some are politicians at local level. Hinduism is their religion. Boys are educated. They use modern medicines and family planning. They have an association and council to look after them.

Prayer Points
* Pray that the leaders of the Kuta will come to Jesus Christ and lead others to Him.
* Pray that God will give them dreams and visions leading them to salvation.
