Nagarchi (Hindu traditions) of India

Introduction / History
The Nagarchi live in India and Bangladesh. In India they live in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. Their traditional work is playing the drums.

In central India many of the Nagarchi live among the Gond people. There are no villages where only the Nagarchi live. They are Hindus by religion and are endogamous. Their education level is low so the gospel will need to be given in oral form too.

The language the Nagarchi speak is Nagarchal. In Maharashtra they also speak Marathi and also Rajasthani in Rajasthan. In Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh they speak in Hindi too.

Prayer Points
* Pray that gospel recordings will lead them to salvation.
* Pray that God will give the Nagarchi dreams and visions leading them to Jesus Christ.
