Pardhan of India

Introduction / History
The Pardhan live in the Dindori district of Madhya Pradesh in India. They are wheat farmers and are musicians who play music to the nearby Gond people. They play the bana, a three string fiddle, while some play a harp. This may be an opportunity for musicians who are Christians to befriend them.

The Pardhan also live in Andhra Pradesh. Pardhan means minister or agent to the minister. They speak Gond and Hindi. They recite legends in both languages. They are not vegetarians and eat wheat and rice as cereals.

The Pardhan are a scheduled caste and Hindus by religion.

Prayer Points
* Pray that the Pardhan may discover music that is Christian and that this would lead them to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that gospel materials will bring them to salvation.
