The Hindu Rangrez live in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka in India. They speak Marathi and are called Rangarajulu among the locals.

They were classed as a family of rulers. They are involved in the clothing industry by tradition and now also in other industries. Printing patterns on clothing is something they began to do later.
