Iranun, Sabah of Malaysia

Introduction / History
Iranun used to be a nation and was the Uranen Kingdom. They used to make raids as pirates long ago.

The Iranun live in villages in the Kota Belud and Lahad Datu regions and elsewhere too in Sabah on north Borneo. Sabah belongs to Malaysia. They are Sunni Muslims who speak Iranun and Sabah Malay.

The Iranun moved from Mindanao in the Philippines. Historical reasons have caused the Iranun to come to Sabah. There were social and political relations between Iranun and Malaysia in the 1500's. They also come now looking for better prospects for them and their families.

Prayer Points
* Pray that God gives the Iranun dreams and visions leading them to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that as they read the Koran that they will want to know more about Jesus, read the Bible and give their lives to Jesus Christ.
