Korku Muwasi of India

Introduction / History
The Korku are a Scheduled Tribe.

They have a low literacy level, so the gospel will need to be given in oral form too.

The Korku in Madhya Pradesh speak Korku. They eat wheat and rice. The bereaved and divorced can marry again. On the death of the father, sons inherit the property with the oldest son becoming in charge of the home. The dead are buried or cremated. They work in cultivation. Women help in financial and agricultural matters. A Community council looks after them. For religion, they mix Hinduism with ancestral worship.

In Maharashtra the Korku work in agriculture and forest labor.

Prayer Points
* Pray that the council leaders come to Jesus Christ and lead others to Him.
* Pray that gospel recordings lead them to salvation.
