Parja Parenga of India

Introduction / History
The Parenga are a Scheduled tribe who live in the district of Koraput in Orissa. They speak Oriya. They are not vegetarians and eat rice.

The Parenga are monogamous. They have several clans. Marrying again is allowed. The dead are cremated. They work in cultivation and agriculture. The women help as well.

The Parenga have a council to look after them. They have a low literacy level so the gospel will need to be given in oral form too. They generally use family planning and have a tribal religion.

Prayer Points
* Pray that the council leaders will come to Jesus Christ and lead others to Him.
* Pray that gospel recordings will lead them to salvation.
