Valmiki, Balmiki Lal Begi (Hindu traditions) of India

Introduction / History
The Lalbegi are a scheduled caste. Hinduism is generally their religion. Some of them follow Islam.

The Lalbegi of West Bengal speak Rajasthani, Bengali and Hindi. They are not vegetarians who eat wheat and rice. Many of them work as sweepers. They are landless. Their literacy level is improving. They use traditional and modern medicines and family planning.

In Bihar as well as being sweepers, some of them breed pigs.

In Uttar Pradesh, the Lalbegi do not have their girls educated and boys only at primary school, so the gospel may need to be delivered in oral form too.

Prayer Points
* Pray that God will give the Lalbegi dreams and visions leading them to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that gospel recordings will lead them to salvation.
