Introduction / History The Yahudic Jewish group were originally part of the diaspora from Israel like the other main branches of Diaspora. This migration to modern day Iraq area happened as a result of the destruction of the Jewish (Hebrew) homeland Israel by King Nebuchadnezzar of the Babylonian Empire. This people is basically Jewish (ethnically) with some differences from the other main types of Jews. They are Jewish people who are coming back to Israel from Iraq area of Mesopotamia (Western Asia) They have a long culture and religious history that is related to Judaism. The Iraqi Jews were the main center of the Jewish culture for many centuries. The "oral" law part of Judaism was mainly formed from this part of the Jewish diaspora. This is one that Jesus referenced when he mentioned the "traditions" of the Pharisees, Scribes.
Where are they located? The Yahudic Jews as in Israel mainly now. Few are in Iraq anymore. Some in other parts of Asia, some in Britain.
What are their beliefs? Some practice Judaism. In which case they belief in the Old Testament, without believing that Jesus is the focus, end and culmination of it.
Prayer Points Pray that they can see that Jesus Christ is the Light of the World, the true and only Messiah (Hebrew for anointed King of Israel) and the glory of the Jewish people. Pray that they can see that the prophecies of the Old Testament about the Savior, final King of the Jews is all fulfilled only in Jesus Christ (Jesus is the Greek transliteration of the Hebrew word for Joshua, Yeshua) * Pray for translation of the Bible to begin in this people group's primary language. * Pray for the availability of the Jesus Film in the primary language of this people.
