Introduction / HistoryThe Bhatra or Bhattra are a scheduled caste in India. They live in Bastai, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Orissa. They speak Bhattri.
Some of the Bhatra are vegetarians while others are not. They eat rice as a cereal. They prefer marriages between cousins.
They do cultivation work and collect mushrooms and forest food and fish too. Some of them work as laborers. They are Hindus.
The Bhatra have traditional councils to judge in matters. They do not use family planning. Only a few of them can read and write so the gospel will need to be given in oral form too.
Prayer PointsPray that the traditional council leaders of the Bhatra will come to Jesus Christ and lead others to Him.
Pray that gospel recordings will lead the Bhatra to salvation.
