Introduction / History
This is a Scheduled Caste, meaning that they have low status in the Hindu world. Their name comes from pullu, referring to a bird of omen.

Where are they located?
The Palluvan people live in Kerala, a state in southern India.

What are their lives like?
Most of their art forms have been described as "ritualistic." There are many subgroups of the Palluvan people.

What are their beliefs?
The Palluvan people worship ghosts and a snake deity. One of their subgroups is noted for singing "snake songs" in worship of this deity. They are also noted for practicing magic.

Palluvan people need to be freed from bondage to ghosts, snake gods and magic so they can join the family of the King of kings.
