Introduction / History The Hill Brahmin of Nepal live in the middle hills of that country. Some of their villages rise as high as three thousand meters. Most live in the western hills. They speak Nepali and read and write in Devanagari.
The Hill Brahmin have houses with the walls made of stone or of mud bricks. They keep cattle and grow crops. The men and women are involved in agriculture. Men do the plowing. Many are landowners. The Brahman are family priests too.
The Hill Brahmin usually follow monogamy. The newly married live in the home of the bridegroom and with his family. The dead are cremated by the river and the ashes go in the river. Property is inherited by the sons. They are Hindus and have rituals and festivals. Artwork is something they tend not to be involved in. They use traditional medicines and modern medicines also.
Prayer Points Brahman are high classed, so pray that pride does not get in the way of them receiving Jesus Christ.
