Introduction / History Rajput means son of a ruler. Mostly they are not vegetarians. There are some cousin marriages. They are monogamous. A bride price is paid. On the death of the father, sons inherit the property with the oldest son in charge of the home. They are mostly a rural community.
The Rajputs are landowners and most work in cultivation. There are business men among them. Hinduism is the religion of most of them. Some of them worship local deities too. They have a traditional caste council to settle disputes. They believe in education.
The word Thakur means lord or master and is a surname used by Rajputs. Pundir is a clan of the Rajputs.
Where are they located? The Rajputs live in several states such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
Prayer Points Pray that the council leaders will come to Jesus Christ and lead others to Him.
Pray that gospel materials will lead them to salvation.
