Introduction / HistoryThe Gond Mannewar are a scheduled tribe of Maharashtra who speak Telugu. They are not vegetarians and eat rice and wheat as cereals. Their name is related to forest dwellers.
The Gond Mannewar have cousin and uncle and niece marriages. They work mostly as laborers with some working in agriculture. Women help with getting a living for their family too.
The Gond Mannewar are Hindus by religion. They have a traditional community council to look after them. In the towns and cities they make use of programs that are of help to them.
