Introduction / History The Qureshi of India are Muslims. In Gujarat they speak Kachchi and Gujarati and read and write in Gujarati. Millet and rice are eaten by them. Cousin marriages are well liked. Cattle raising is their main work. They are educated and use traditional and modern medicine.
In Karnataka they speak Urdu and read and write in Perso Arabic. They are not vegetarians. A community association looks after them. They are butchers and are landless. Family planning is used.
In Andhra Pradesh on the death of the father two parts of the property go to the sons and one to the daughters with the oldest son becoming in charge of the home. Divorce and marrying again is allowed. The dead are buried. They have a low literacy level so the gospel will need to be given in oral form too.
In Tamil Nadu some of them own land.
Prayer Points Pray that as they read the Koran they will want to know more about Jesus, read the Bible and give their lives to Jesus Christ.
Pray that God will give them dreams and visions leading them to salvation.
