Introduction / HistoryThe Anthur Nair live in Kerala. Their name comes from a place called Andur. They speak, read and write in Malayalam. They are not vegetarians and eat rice as a cereal.
The Anthur Nair like cousin marriages. Divorce and marrying again are allowed. There are marriage rituals. The dead are buried.
They work in making pottery by tradition and the women help here. They also work in cultivation, business and government service. Some of them are are artists and others work in administration.
The Nair religion is Hinduism. Snakes are worshipped by them too.
