Introduction / HistoryThe Bawaria of India are a scheduled caste. Most follow the Sikh religion. They have a low literacy level so the gospel will need to be given in oral form.
In Rajasthan, the Bawaria speak Hindi. They are not vegetarians and eat wheat and millet as cereals. They work in cultivation. A community council looks after them. They cremate the dead.
In Haryana they speak Bagri, Haryanvi and Hindi. Most of them do not own land. They hunt animals, some are in business and some are in trade and other work.
In Punjab, they speak Bauria and Punjabi. Divorce is allowed with the permission of the council.
In Uttar Pradesh, property goes to the sons by inheritance. The welfare system has benefited them.
In Delhi, the Bawaria speak Rajasthani and Hindi. They are Hindus by religion. Modern medicine is used by them. They have different types of work.
Prayer Points* Pray that the leaders of the caste councils will come to Jesus Christ and lead others of the Bawaria to Him.
