The Ladia people are a sub-community of the larger Rajput community. Like other Rajputs, they were known for their bravery and willingness to take up arms for kingdoms and empires. They had amazing skill riding horses. Most live either in Madhya Pradesh or Rajasthan. They speak Rajasthani which is closely related to Hindi.
Today the Ladia people are farmers, traders or they work in the service industry. They have their own forms of music, dance and other artistic expressions.
The Ladia people practice Hinduism, the ancient religion of India. Hinduism is a catch-all phrase for the local religions of South Asia, so it is very diverse. At the popular level, Hindus worship and serve the gods of the Hindu pantheon. They visit Hindu temples and offer prayers, food, flowers, and incense to their gods in hopes of gaining protection and benefits. They do not have a personal or familial relationship with their gods like Christians or Jews. There are other Hindus who are much more philosophical, especially among the Brahmins.
Almost all Hindus participate in yearly celebrations like Holi, the festival of colors and the start of spring / Diwali, the festival of lights / Navratri, the celebration of autumn / and Rama Navami, Rama’s birthday.
The Ladia people have faced discrimination, injustice and marginalization. As a result, they have their own organizations to protect their interests.
Pray for loving workers to go to the Ladia people until there are disciples who make more disciples.
Pray the Lord will prepare the hearts of the Ladia to understand and to believe the gospel.
Pray for the Lord to bless the Ladia people with adequate education and medical facilities.
Pray for the Lord to bless the Ladia people so abundantly that they will see he is the only one worthy of praise and worship.
