The Omanatya people have low status because of their tribal background. Their name comes from an ancient word that meant "minister of state affairs."
The Omanatya tribe lives in Odisha, a state in eastern India.
Today the Omanatya people are simple farmers. They have two main folk dances that are unique to them.
The Omanatya people practice Hinduism, the ancient religion of India. However, their form of Hinduism is blended with their traditional tribal beliefs. Hinduism has a long standing track record of allowing for other beliefs to be incorporated into what we call Hinduism.
They need to find ways to get a better harvest for their crops and improved irrigation projects.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to give the Omanatya people teachable and understanding hearts.
Pray that a strong movement of the Holy Spirit will bring entire Omanatya families into a rich experience of God's blessing.
Pray for Omanatya families to be drawn by the Holy Spirit to seek forgiveness, and to understand the adequacy of Christ's work on the cross.
Pray for teams of believers to do sustained, focused prayer for the Lord to open the hearts of Omanatya family leaders to experience God's blessing through a movement of family-based discovery Bible studies
