Introduction / History
The Adiyan are a Scheduled Caste who live mostly in Kerala. Adi means lowly. They speak, read and write in Malayalam. They are not vegetarians and eat rice as a cereal. Cross cousin marriages are performed among them. The wife regards the pollution period after the death of her husband.

The Adiyan work in agriculture and in laboring. They have a traditional council to look after them. They have a low literacy level so the gospel will need to be given in oral form too. Family planning is used by them. Hinduism is their religion and they have festivals.

A few of the Adiyan live in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Prayer Points
* Pray that the council leaders come to Jesus Christ and lead others to Him.
* Pray that gospel recordings will lead them to salvation.
