Introduction / History
The Bhoksa are a Scheduled Tribe of India who live mostly in Uttarakhand in their capital Dehradun and in the Nainital region in the lowland of the Himalayas. Some of them live in Bijnor in Uttarh Pradesh. They are also known as Mehra.

The Bhoksa were animists but are now Hindus. Their ways are similar to those of other Hindu communities. They use Brahmin priests. They are exogamous with several clans that are said to be of the same status as each other.

The Bhoksa speak a Tharu language and Hindi. They work mainly in cultivating but many are mountain guides too.

Prayer Points
Pray that the Bhoksa will come to see Jesus as the answer they are looking for.
Pray that God will give them dreams and visions leading them to Jesus Christ.
