Introduction / History
The Ghanchi name has to do with oil pressing which is their traditional work. They belong to the Kshatriya caste.
Divorce and marrying again are allowed. On the death of the father, sons inherit the property with the oldest son becoming in charge of the home. There are birth and marriage rituals. They do trading and some press and sell oil. A community council looks after them to settle disagreements.
In Gujarat the Ghanchi speak, read and write in Gujarati. Wheat and rice are eaten by them as cereals. They bury the dead. Many work as laborers and in business.
What are their lives like?

What are their needs?
They have a low literacy level so the gospel will need to be given in oral form too.
* Pray that the Ghanchi will be attracted to Jesus, read the Bible and give their lives to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that gospel recordings will bring them to salvation.
