Introduction / History
The Hijra (or Hijda) of India are eunuchs who volunteered to be so. There are Muslims and Hindus among them. They have rituals and are under the authority of gurus.
In Uttar Pradesh the Hijra are not vegetarians and eat rice as a cereal. Many of them smoke. Dancing and singing is their work. They have a community council to look after them. They have a low education level so the gospel will need to be given in oral form too. Modern medicine is used by them.
In Gujarat the Hijra speak Gujarati and Hindi and read and write in Devanagari. The Hindus are vegetarians. Muslim Hijra eat meat but avoid eating chicken.
In Madhya Pradesh the Hijra live in Indore. They have associations and organizations.

Pray that God will give the Hijra dreams and visions leading them to Jesus Christ.
Pray that the Hijra community council leaders will come to Jesus Christ and lead others to Him.
Pray that gospel recordings will lead them to salvation.
