Introduction / History
The Khoja became Muslims in South Asia. The word Khoja comes from the Persian, meaning pious individuals from Asia.

In India, most of the Khoja live in Hyderabad City and in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. There are Shia and Sunni Muslims among them. They have different divisions of Islam. They apply Islam principles in their businesses as well as in their lives. Many of the Sunni Muslims live in the west Punjab in Pakistan.

Many of the Khoja have emigrated to Africa, Europe and North America. The Khoja speak Gujarati, Sindhi, Kutchi and also Memoni.
