Introduction / History
The Kirar of India work in agriculture. They are not vegetarians and they eat wheat and rice and jowar for cereals.

The Kirar in Rajasthan speak Brajbhasa and Hindi and read and write in Devanagari. They have child marriages and are monogamous. Sons inherit the property. Divorce and marrying again is allowed. The dead are cremated. Some work in business, some are teachers and some do government office work as well as many doing the usual agricultural work. Local councils with a leader settle disputes. They are Hindus.

In Madhya Pradesh, the Kirar speak Hindi and Marathi. Cross-cousin marriages are not allowed. Child marriages are no longer preferred. They are landowners.

In Maharashtra, the Kirar cremate the married when dead while those who are not married are buried. Some of them are in professional work. Education and family planning are looked on favorably by them.

Prayer Points
* Pray that leaders of the councils will come to salvation and lead others of the Kirar to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that God will give the Kirar dreams and visions leading them to Jesus Christ.
