Introduction / History
The Malik or Mallik of India are Muslims converted from Hinduism. Their main work is agriculture.

The Malik in Gujarat live in the Kheda district. Malik in Arabic means lord. They speak, read and write in Gujarati. They are not vegetarians and eat rice and wheat as their main foods. Modern medicines are used by them. Family planning is used by them unlike the Malik in Bihar and in Jammu and Kashmir. They are Sunni Muslims and have average literacy.

The Malik in Bihar speak Urdu and Hindi and read and write in Perso Arabic and Devanagari. They prefer marriage between cousins. They have marriage and birth rituals and the dead are buried. Community councils settle disputes among them.

In Jammu and Kashmir, both sons and daughters inherit the property on the death of the father with the oldest son becoming in charge of the home. As well as cultivation, some are in business and some work for the government. They are well educated.

Prayer Points
* Pray that as the Malik read the Koran that they will want to learn more about Jesus Christ and will give their lives to Him.
* Pray that God will give them dreams and visions leading them to salvation.
