Introduction / History
The Navithan or Nasuvan of India live in the state of Kerala and migrated from Tamil Nadu. They speak, read and write in Tamil and also speak Malayam. They are not vegetarian and rice is their main cereal.

The Navithan favor cross-cousin marriages and are monogamous. Divorce is allowed and widowers can marry again. Inheritance on the death of the father goes to the sons and the oldest son becomes in charge of the home. Women help with getting money. There are birth, marriage and death rituals. The dead are cremated.

The Navithan are hairdressers but now some breed animals and are laborers. They are Hindus by religion. They are musical and believe in education.

Prayer Points
* Pray that Indian Christians with a love of music could befriend them and lead them to Jesus Christ.
* Pray against the caste system in India and let the Indian people realize all are equal in the sight of Jesus Christ.
