Introduction / History
The Raval of India are also called Rawal and Ravalia. They speak Kannada and Marathi and read and write in Marathi and Devanagari. They are not vegetarians and eat rice and jowar.

The Raval are monogamous. A dowry is given. They are allowed to marry again. Women are treated the same as men. There are birth and marriage rituals and the dead are buried.

Some of the Raval are priests to the lower castes. There are landowners among them and some work in government service and others as laborers. They have professional workers such as teachers and a few are doctors and engineers. Weaving and working with yarn is their traditional work.

The Raval are Hindus by religion. Renuka Devi is the family deity for them. They celebrate festivals. Modern medicine is used by them.

Prayer Points
* Pray that gospel materials will help bring the Raval to Jesus Christ.
* Pray the Raval priests will come to salvation and lead others to Jesus Christ too.
