Introduction / History
The Holer of north east India speak Kannada and live in Bihar, West Bengal and Orissa. Most of them live in south Bihar in the hills of the Chotanagpur Plateau. Some live in the plains. In other parts of India they work in industry and agriculture.
The culture of the Holer is changing due to modern ways. In the past their chiefs ruled the forest region of Chotanagpur.
Most of the Holer earn a living through farming but some in rural regions are weavers or hunters and gatherers.
The Holer are Hindus and their main deity is the sun god. They have rituals and festivals. They do believe in a creator and worship nature, too.
* Pray that with the Holer believing in a creator that Indian Christians will lead them to the true Creator.
* Pray that God given dreams and visions will lead them to Jesus Christ.
