Introduction / History
The Munnur of India derive their name from the Telugu language and it means three hundred. They speak Telugu and are Hindus by religion.

The Munnur are endogamous, meaning they marry within their own group. Men cannot marry their first cousin except the daughter of the brother of the mother. Their girls marry as infants. Polygamy is allowed but usually only used in cases like if the woman cannot have children.

Munnur marriages are done by those who are exogamous, linked by family names. Men can marry two sisters as long as the older one is married first. A Brahmin looks at horoscopes to judge whether the marriage takes place. The family of the bride get to know the bridegroom and if it goes well a bride price is paid. Pinnamma, the Hindu goddess of fortune, is worshipped in advance of the wedding. There are many other marriage rituals performed.

Prayer Points
Pray that God will give the Munnur dreams and visions leading them to Jesus Christ.
Pray that gospel materials will lead them to Salvation too.
