Introduction / History
The Ponwar or Panwar Rajputs of India have many village owners and cultivators. They have traveled from their own country to other parts looking for work.
The men have married women who are not Rajputs. The Ponwar of Wainganga Valley marry each other though. They have exogamous sections, meaning that members of a segment of the group only marry with a person outside of their section. Some have the names of Rajput clans. The names of the castes show that they have married away from their own people.
Some of the Ponwar Rajputs are Hindus and they speak Hindi. Others of them are Muslims and speak in Urdu.
* Pray that God will give the Ponwar Rajputs dreams and visions leading them to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that with them mixing with others that the Ponwar will meet Indian Christians who will lead them to Salvation too.
