The Bhatia Rajputs of India are traders by tradition. Some are moneylenders. They are mainly Hindus. Sons inherit property with the oldest son taking charge of the home.

In Punjab they are Hindus and Sikhs. They speak Punjabi and Hindi and read and write in Gurmukhi. Their main cereal is wheat. They are endogamous, which means their preference is to maintain marriages only within their group. Women take part in religious, social and financial matters. They use modern medicine.

In Haryana they are non-vegetarian. Divorce and remarriage is allowed. They work in agriculture and in business as well as other work.

In Gujarat the Bhatia Rajput speak Kachchi and Gujarati and read and write in Gujarati.
