Introduction / History
The Rajbanshi of India began to be called by that name at the beginning of the last century. Their name means royal family. They are Hindus.

In West Bengal, the Rajbanshi are a scheduled caste. They are not vegetarians and eat meat, fish and eggs and wheat as a cereal.

The Rajbanshi live in the north of West Bengal. They speak, read and write in Bengali. The average number of people per house is six. Divorce is allowed. They have two sub-groups: the Barabhag and the Chhotobhag. The women take part in financial and religious matters. The dead are cremated.

Some of the Rajbanshi live in Assam and Bihar too.

Prayer Points
* Pray that Indian Christians will help lead the Rajbanshi to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that gospel materials and the internet will lead them to salvation.
