Introduction / History
The U.K. Iraqis are those who were born or came to live later in the U.K. Since World War II, Iraqis have come to live in the UK. After the war they moved to Britain as they did not like the monarchy in their own country. Supporters of the monarchy came too when it was removed.
Some came to the UK for a better life and others on the grounds of religion. Some came because of Saddam Hussein including many Kurds. More came because of the turmoil caused after the invasion of their country this century.
Most of them live in London and Birmingham. Islam is their main religion. Kurds speak Kurdish but many of the Iraqis speak Mesopotamian Arabic.
* Pray that Iraqi Christians in the UK will lead others of them to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that as they read the Koran they will be attracted to Jesus, read the Bible, realize that He is the Christ and give their lives to Him.
